Giving the Gift of Prayer 기도의 선물 나누기

One of the best ways to love others is to pray for them. Jesus is our ultimate example in this. The New Testament tells us about Jesus praying for others on many occasions, and even shows us that He continues to come to the Father on our behalf. Romans 8:34 says that He “is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.” Even after showing such selfless love at the cross, the risen and ascended Lord Jesus Christ continues to express His care for us by praying for us at this very moment.

사람을 사랑하는 가장 좋은 방법의 하나는 그들을 위해 기도하는 것입니다. 가장 좋은 예가 예수님입니다. 신약성경에서 예수님은 여러 경우에 사람들을 위해 기도하셨습니다. 더욱이 우리를 위하여 하나님 아버지께로 계속 나아가시는 모습을 봅니다. “그는 하나님 우편에 계신 자요 우리를 위하여 간구하시는 자시니라”(롬 8:34)고 하였습니다. 십자가에서 자신을 내어주시기까지 사랑을 보여주신 주 예수 그리스도께서는 부활하여 승천하신 후에도 바로 이 순간까지 우리를 위해 기도하시면서 끝없는 관심을 보여주고 계십니다.

All around us are people who need us to follow Jesus’s example and love them with our prayers, inviting God’s help and intervention in their lives. 우리가 예수님을 본받아 사랑해야 할 사람들이 우리 주위에는 얼마든지 있습니다. 여기에는 그들의 삶에 하나님의 도우심과 간섭하심을 구하는 우리의 기도가 있어야 합니다. 우리가 하나님께 그들을 위해 기도하게 도와 달라고 하면 하나님은 들어주실 것입니다! 사랑의 주님이 우리에게 힘주셔서 오늘 다른 사람들에게 기도의 선물을 풍성히 나눌 수 있게 해주시기를 원합니다.
